Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting

March 1, 2023

This Commission was established in 1912 and makes recommendations to the City Council on acquisition, development, beautification and maintenance of public parks, landscape resources, public recreation facilities, budget, and programs of Park & Recreation activities.

JINX the Musical - Borel Middle School

March 3-5, 2023

Written by Borel alumni Makena & Teagan Reynolds with JT Kaufman is a spell-binding story of young teens maneuvering their way through a mysterious jinx that flips the lives of a socially awkward teen and the high achieving popular kid --leaving them asking What Did I Do to deserve this? Can they defy the Rules of the Jinx - or will They Never Change A Thing?

City Council Study Session - Land Use Heights and Densities, and Measure Y

March 6, 2023

At this public meeting, the City Council will be asked to confirm that the proposed height ranges associated with each land use designation are appropriate to include in the Public Review Draft General Plan, confirm direction on General Plan alignment with Measure Y and a future ballot initiative to update Measure Y, and provide input, if desired, on other policies or programs/actions in the General Plan Update, including the Housing Element, that should be evaluated for potential updates or revisions.

Tech Help @ Marina Library

Do you have questions about computers or electronic devices? Come to the Marina Library to get help with your device. We offer assistance with questions about email, computer software, etc. Please bring your electronic device. If you would like help with eBooks, please also bring your library card. Each appointment provides one-on-one instruction for 35 minutes.

The Diary of Anne Frank - Aragon High School Spring Play

March 10–12, 17-19, 2023

The Diary of Anne Frank is based upon the famous book, The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank. Recounting the story of her own life in hiding as a young Jewish girl during the Holocaust, Anne Frank captivated the minds and hearts of readers everywhere with her own diary.

A Midsummer Night's Dream - Hillsdale High School Play

March 17-19, 2023

Unlocking the Magic of California Native Plants in Your Garden

This workshop, designed with the home gardener in mind, will explore the magic and beauty of California native plants, discuss how vital they are for our pollinators and wildlife, and discover how to add California native plants to existing home gardens. We hope attendees will be inspired by this informational session and begin to appreciate  and add native plants to their gardens.

Summer Camp Expo

March 19, 2023

Summer camps from some of the most respected Bay Area schools and programs will be gathered at Hillsdale to help parents research and find the perfect summer camp experience for their children! Experts will provide vital information on all types of summer activities from sports camps, to science and nature discovery, to dance and drama classes, to academic and adventure camps, including local day and sleep away camps. Camps geared to all ages and interests will be represented.

Community Implicit Bias Training 

March 22, 2023

Join us for a free community workshop, sponsored by the City's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force,  centered on implicit bias and microaggressions provided by the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center. This training will give you an opportunity to learn more about yourself and your community in an interactive and engaging space.

San Mateo County Pride Center's Grand Reopening Party

The collaborative Climate Fresk workshop will teach you the fundamental science behind climate change and empower you to take action. In this interactive group game, players will work together to connect causes and effects of climate change, draw, and discuss ways to help reduce its effects.

Fixit Clinic

April 1, 2023

 Fixit Clinics are free community-based educational workshops where neighbors, friends and families collectively learn about and repair their broken items. By repairing broken items we extend the life of our belongings and keep things out of the landfill. Fixit Clinics rely on volunteer coaches to help disassemble, troubleshoot and repair items.

Mental Health Matters 2023: Community Wellness Fair and 5k Run/Walk Event

Mental Health Matters is a large community event that brings together all walks of life for a day filled with fun, learning, and wellness. Activities are aimed at supporting mental wellness while also providing education around mental health services in San Mateo County. This event is also a space for individuals to strengthen connections with each other and meet fellow mental health advocates in the community.
